Update, because there hasn't been one in a while.

Okay
Revert to normal colors, fonts, privacy setting....

What did you buy for Black Friday?
We got...
  • 3 scarves from Fuego...
  • 2 pants and 2 tanks...
  • a dress...
  • a Columbia jacket for daddy...
  • some memory stick from Costco

I have a violin recital today. I know Anita and Pei do to! (But maybe their's is over by now...)

I'm nervous. Kinda. Maybe I'm just hyperventilating a little cuz the belt on my shirt is a little bit constricting. Not that I'm fat or anything, but it looks better when everything is tucked into place, even if it is a little bit uncomfortable.

I watched Bolt and Australia and Get Smart (which was hilarious) this weekend. Yay for movies!

Benny and Ivy, I hope you're having fun watching Twilight!

Pei and Ani, good luck on your recitals!

Helen, Dennis, Eric, Katie, Michael, Mitchell, Larry, and Teresa...Frankenstein essay? I haven't started...but nothing's due tomorrow right? ^^ And history test? Haven't started studying that either...I tend to overindulge in free time during breaks.

Anita--CALL/EMAIL/IM ME. Nursing home. BLAH.

See you guys soon!

Twilight Gathering

"*Gobblegobblegobble*
Excited for Turkey day?
;)"
LOL, these labels are ADORABLE.
:DD
I'm not exactly excited...turkey is nasty...I think we're going to buy an already-cooked chicken from Costco or something, and pretend that it's Turkey. LOL!

Anyways, here's news for you guys:
Twilight, December 6th, 4:30 PM at Lincoln Square?
I'm sure a lot of you are planning to see Twilight soon, but it'd be a great opportunity. :D
Anyone interested? And if you are, feel free to invite non-ms PRISMies too, so we get to know each other more, I suppose.

CRAPCRAPCRAP it's the 7th, not the 6th!!
Sunday, not Saturday!
Pleaseplease comment if you read this!

Umm...!

Haha.
Bonnie messed around with the colors
cuz she felt like it...
(it was random)

Gonna leave this up for like...a little while.
Then I'll revert back to the old colors.

Just thought you guys should know, so that you won't start freaking out about the layout. lol x]

X_X

According to my dad, I'm grounded for the rest of the year.
Because:
-My Chemistry test score...
-Not having ANY curiosity within school subjects
-Doing all my homework "mechanically" without thought
-Not having interest in asking questions
-Wasting too much time
-Not being focused.

They're thinking of taking my iPod away too.
Holy shit.
[Excuse the language, but I find it appropriate here.]
I think I'm so freaked that I can't even type in capitals and use exclamation marks.

Wow, today was probably the shittiest day ever.
No joke.
At the moment I also have another huge problem to deal with. And I want to get that over with.
And I could like, seriously, just get out of this house and walk to understand what the hell is going on in life.
But, I won't, because it's pitch black and I'd prolly freeze to death.
And I wouldn't get my work done.
And a circle would be created.

What a great way to end the day.
Just fucking great.

Noviembre

... means 'November' in Spanish just in case...=]
Now, Don't that sound beautiful and poetic and eternal. Something about fall season, leaves turning and fluttering to the ground, trees bursting into to color like fire, about waiting and cloudiness and autumn chill through pattering rain on a great blanket of leaves smothering the ground.

Anyways... *dotdotdot* SOUNDOFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xD
A guys needs a break every once in a while...^^
Anyways.

HI!
Remember to use labels!
:)

OHMIGOD CREEPY MESSAGE IS STALKING ME.

Name: Larryy
Location: Desk
Mood: A mood of serenity with my soul having been escalated from the physical world in the midst of music and eternal bliss. no but seriously, bored out of my mind trying to do FRIDAY's hw (not procrastinating)

What is your favorite type of weather?
well i like light showers with wind. in other words when it is "spitting" because you're not being drenched but it's really cleansing and it's highly refreshing. too bad spitting has a negative connotation.

What books are you currently reading?
Frankenstein, which is actually quite interesting
Eragon series (aren't you proud of me Venny? xP)
dumb AP world Bulliet book and the Zumdahl for chem DDD8

What are you thankful for?
having the best friends in the world :]

How are the kids?
well. they've been very high recently, having nearly depleted their supply of halloween candy
they are overusing sarcasm because one of my old acquaintances named DOMINIC keeps using various sarcastic terms, notably 'Maurice,' and setting a bad example.
moreover, they're ecstatic about the trip to taiwan. of course, they're not in high school; they dont know true stress yet. not that many tests in middle school.
they also hold this amazing grudge against a student in their orchestra class named Leo who, according to them, has an inflated ego as well as an arrogant view of his cello skills and academic ability
they also think the fact that acting mature and pretending to have kids is amusing and somewhat ridiculous. obviously this is complete folly; just look at the success of this blog =]

Ishmael

Note: I posted it on my blog but I thought it was pretty important to think about, so I'm posting it here, too.

“Given an expanding food supply, any population will expand. This is true of any species, including the human. The Takers [us, you] have been proving this here for ten thousand years. For ten thousand years they’ve been steadily increasing food production to feed an increased population, and every time they’ve done this, the population has increased still more.”
“Why increase food production?”
“To feed the millions who’re starving.”
“And as you feed them will you extract a promise that they will not reproduce?”
“Well…no, that’s not part of the plan.”
“So what will happen if you feed the starving millions?”
“They’ll reproduce and our population will increase.”
“Without fail. This is an experiment that has been performed in your culture annually for ten thousand years, with completely predictable results. Increasing food production to feed an increased population results in yet another increase in population.”
--
“You’ve seen the ads for sending food to starving peoples around the world?”
“Yes.”
“Have you ever seen ads for sending contraceptives?”
“No.”
“Mother Culture talks out of both sides of her mouth on this issue. When you say to her population explosion she replies global population ctonrol, but when you say to her famine she replies increased food production.”
--
“An increase in food production in Nebraska doesn’t necessarily produce a population increase in Nebraska. It may produce a population increase somewhere in India or Africa.”
“Are you suggesting that First World farmers are fueling the Third World population explosion?”
“Ultimately, who else is there to fuel it?”
--
“You need to take a step back from the problem in order to see it in global perspective. At present there are five and a half billion of you here, and, though millions of you are starving, you’re producing enough food to feed six billion. And because you’re producing enough food for six billion, it’s a biological certainty that in three or four years there will be six billion of you. By that time, however (even though millions of you will still be starving), you’ll be producing enough food for six and a half billion—which means that in another three or four years there will be six and a half billion. But by that time you’ll be producing enough food for seven billion (even though millions of you will still be starving), which again means that in another three or four years there will be seven billion of you. In order to halt this process, you must face the fact that increasing food production doesn’t feed your hungry, it only fuels your population explosion.”

Frightening, isn’t it?
Basically we have to let all these people starve to death, or we have to extract agreements for them not to reproduce. Or for them to reproduce at a constant rate. And we ourselves must follow this rule as well.
This was taken from the book Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.

November Soundoff

Mitch

Location:
At home, in front of the comp.

Mood:
Uhh... mixed emotions. Confused about life? Happy today though?

Weather:
W/e weather is okay, sun would be nice though xD But we live in Seattle, so little chance of that.

Frankenstein, for class. Uh... nothing outside of class. Finished "Dune" a couple weeks ago. Was very epic book.

Thankful:
My family, my friends, my iPod, my house, my Drumset, everything. xD

How are the kids:
Blehh they're alright. They seem to be getting nagged a lot more about college and SAT and crap. But it's getting better; school's kinda bleh and they're confused about life. W/e, it'll all pass. Excited for thanksgiving.

That's for me to know and you to remember.

Location:
In front of a computer/laptop/desk/paperwork/mess of pencils

Mood:
How do you feel when you're sleep deprived?

Weather:
Snow. Snow Snow Snow. I can have a day off if it snows.

English book. History book. Other history book. Physics book. Math book. Ethics book. Lots of papers. Lots of folders. Binder. More paper.

Oh! Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Thankful:
That I am not sleep-deprived enough to have hallucinations.

How are the kids:
Never thought I would actually say this: They have no life.
They can't wait until break. One month. One month.

One of them is complaining that she has a test on her birthday.
Another is typing away on her laptop.
The others are napping on the couches.
They wish they could be paid for all the paperwork they do.

What books are you currently reading?

October Soundoff!

So I wrote a post yesterday at 4:30. And it was a depressing post, but I was writing it anyway. Ya know, for the soundoff. But then, my mom came home. AT FOUR THIRTY. So I had to shut the computer off really fast (I "pulled" the cord out). And of course, the post went away, right? Uh... No. Wrong. I just found it. T.T

"Name: Pie
Location: My little hell hole. It's dark and dreary there (though I believe there's a Wii in the back corner)
Mood: Frustrated. Depressed. Clingy-feeling. Hopeless. Faked. Huggable."

But that was yesterday! So now I have to finish it. -.- I mean, if I hadn't found it, I would've totally skipped it. Feh. So lazy nowadays.

What is your favorite type of weather?
Snow! Or 68 degrees F 'cause it's awesome short-sleeve weather.

What books are you currently reading?
"Catcher in the Rye" If I hadn't known all those swear words, I would've learned them my now.

[In honor of Thanksgiving...] What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for...
The Hugs
The Smiles
The Internet
Chocolate
Pencils and Erasers
Blogger and My Blog (and This One..)
My Friends
The Food
Hope

How are the kids?
Cairo, the older one, is bored with life. He is bored with school, is bored with Chinese, is bored with violin, is bored (and annoyed) with walking up so many stairs (approx. 48 stair-steps first thing in the morning). He's also bored with regular, plain, milk chocolate. He wants something... darker.
Andria (short for Alexandria), the younger one, on the other hand, is BOY CRAZY! I think she likes this random guy. Like, like him a lot. Silly girl. (she says he is awesomely cute, funny, smart, happiful, huggable, and all that.) I'm waiting for the day when Cairo turns into one of those overprotective brothers (totally not likely).

Presidential Election

Obama won!
It must be pandemonium at Daniel W.'s house.

[For Anita's sake (NOT THAT ANITA IS REPUBLICAN. SHE JUST REQUESTED THAT IT BE FAIR TO THE NON-DEMOCRATS. =D And also Anita didna like either candidate, so there.), and for the sake of being politically correct...]
Obama got more votes than McCain
McCain got less votes than Obama
McCain did not win
Obama did not lose
The evening ended with a victory for Senator, soon-to-be-President Barack Obama with 338 electoral votes and 155 electoral votes for Senator John McCain.

Thoughts?

The 11th month of the year

Booya! Almost holiday season!

Name: Michael/Mike/Dookie
Location: In the clouds
Mood: Happy
Favorite type of weather: Sunny and warm, but not too warm so you can go outside and play but not end up sweating a lot. A warm or cool breeze wouldn't be bad either.
Books I'm currently reading: Frankenstein, The BIBLE, Harry Potter 6 (slow I know, but I'm trying).
Thankful for: Pretty much everything I have; family, friends, my posessions (not to sound greedy, but I still am thankful that I have them).
*coughcoughandbonniecoughcough*
The kids: Doing great. They were keeping up with the presidential election and just found out that Obama won! They are very excited, and so am I! Goin' out for some fried chicken tonight (lol jk)! That was pretty much the most exciting news today *coughcoughotherthanbonniehuggingmecoughcough*. Been discovering some new music through Dominic. ...uhh... Yeah, thats pretty much it.

the kids are thinking about dropping out of fps cuz theyre going to france and dont wanna pay for individual stuff D:
*sigh*
the kids are living a normal life, in general

Turkeys 'gobble,' right? Is that why they're so pudgy?

Name: Anitahhhhh
Location: Somewhere cold? Like, really, really cold? Without heating? ...'cept not Antarctica, even though that'd be super awesome =D
Mood: Sneezy, happy, and sleepy.
...Oh! and Dopey and Grumpy and Bashful and Doc too x] Of course.
Favorite kind of weather: Sun! warm sun. Like, April/May sun...except not really April sun because it barely suns in April. [I think that should be the verb. 'Suns,' like rains! Except for it's sunning instead of raining. Yeah? Yep.] With a low wind chill factor pleaseee. And Anita especially likes it when the sky is perfectly blue without any clouds because you can just STARESTARESTARE at the sky and all you can see is blue and you can get dizzy and high off the sky. Mmmhmmm. THAT RHYMES
Books: Anita is reading Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger [is required]. The narrator is definitely psychotic. And profane. And strange. And kinda scary. But I know people who are like this, which is even scarier xP
And then Heartbeat. =] It's a very beat up old book because I used to carry it to and from Canada every time we went to visit my cousins, but it's a good book. And has a good list of adjectives =D

Anita is thankful for: Pretty things. Sunrises in the morning while we freeze outside playing soccer when it's still dark. Warm fuzzy feelings. Ice cream! 0.7mm lead. 0.5mm lead. Expo markers. Sharpies. USB sticks. My computer *pats computer*. AP World history textbook EW HOW NERDYY.
Caramel popcorn. Fair trade chocolate. Smiles. Magic wands and butterfly wings. And the internet. Moose. Meese? Mooses. ...yeah. Penguins, definitely! Persimmons =]
People. ...repetitive-ish but yes, you guys. *patpat* *throws candy*
Big warm sweatshirts that make sure she doesna die of frostbite outside when we have to wear shorts and tshirts for PE. Velcro shoes. Cell phone charms. Tortellini. Hot steam when you boil dumplings so that you can stick your hands over the pot and warm them. Highlighters. Printers. And purple hippos.

How ARE the kids?
Super-ultra-extremely-uber-mucho BORED
by the slowness of her classes at Newport. Really. The middle daughter sits in English with sophomores whose lives revolve around some random computer game that's called warcraft...or something? yeah. She realizes that they may not have anything better to do with their lives, but rreallyyyy.
And, their idea of an essay is something like: "I think that Holden's narration is trustworthy because he is always trustworthy in the book. Holden is trustworthy because he does what he says he would do. This shows that Holden is trustworthy. Also, Holden told everyone why he didn't go to the fencing competition. This shows that Holden tells the truth, so he is truthworthy. In conclusions, I think that I can trust Holden because he always does the right thing."
...
...
[Wow, truthworthy isn't even a word]
...
...
-_________-"""
Maybe she just got stuck with the slowest sophomores at Newport. Who knows!
The oldest daughter is extremely confused because her daddy recently 'fixed' her computer. This meant reblocking of many internet sites, switch to Firefox [ahmgah! nowai.], addition of Adobe reader thingy, but deletion of the adobe flash thing, which allowed her to listen to music on the internet. Now it is quite impossible. And since she does not own any songs [oh! except, like, two...] , and isna allowed to use the radio, she is reduced to playing songs over and over and over in her head.
The oldest guy ackshually likes soccer, the sport that his class is doing in PE, which is really strange. Maybe it's because he doesn't mind pain. Meanwhile, though, his alter-ego-twin-person is whining because PEOPLE ARE BRUTAL and he is bruised. The oldest brother pays his alter-ego not ttoo much mind, though.
The youngest guy is bouncing off walls. He's influencing his younger sister. That's probably not a good thing. But they're happy kids, so whateverrrr.

November Sound-Off!

YOUR NAME: Ivy. Ivysaur. Whatevs.
Location: Over the rainbow.
Mood: Tired. Busy. I'm exhausted, really. And I have a craploads of homework.

What is your favorite type of weather?
I like two types. One, light rain. Rain where you don't have to run and hide from. Where you just hope that your coffee doesn't get rained upon. And then I also like sunny with a breeze. Chilly, but not cold.

What books are you currently reading?
Frankenstein, and The Innocent Man.

What are you thankful for?
Having people that support me through everything, having hot running water, all that good stuff. Plus I'm extremely thankful for all of you.

How ARE the kids???
Exhausted. Annoyed at grades. They're frustrated about how hard it is to maintain a 4.0 in freshman year! Especially in Chemistry. They normally always do well in science. But they're having problems this year. Which is extremely disappointing. Other than that, they're doing great! Loving school life in general, and meeting lots of people. Things are getting exciting! Christmas is almost here!

Fwahaha, my friend from camp, on July 1st, came up to me and screamed "IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!!" and I was like O.O hahaha. Story of my life. But yep. :)

Theresa's November Soundoff

Hello! Caught it on the day it was posted. :)

N.A.M.E. Theresa
L.O.C.A.T.I.O.N. Fanfic-Headache Land
M.O.O.D. Like a rogue spaceship which wandered too close to the Sun and spontaneously combusted. In other words, highhh! :D
F.A.V.O.R.I.T.E. W.E.A.T.H.E.R. Sunny but cold, or clear but with snow.
B.O.O.K.S. Ishmael, gorrila version. No, not voluntarily--that's part of English. As for books...well, I'm reading an online fanfic story? More like 30 of them at the same time while I'm waiting for updates, but...you get the idea.
T.H.A.N.K.F.U.L. F.O.R. Life, in general. Having all of you peoples as friends. Not being in PRISM (lol!) and...having three crunch bars which my brother gave to me from Trick-or-Treating. I didn't go, but I have candy anyways ;D
H.O.W. A.R.E. T.H.E. K.I.D.S. Feeling better than ever! Well, not quite, but pretty darn close. As high as that spaceship (well, it's gone now) but exploding spaceships beat airplanes any day. Ttly. At the moment, I have finally become comfortable and integrated into the freshman glob of people I wander around with during lunch. Ooh! And he-who-must-not-be-named! (No, not Voldemort, sorry.) But he's pretty awesome. :D I'll bring in updates in life. I think that-person and Annie, a Physics buddy, are my closest friends at MI. They're both Asian. Isn't that kind of funny? I dunno, it's funny to me. Start laughing. -shiftyeyes- XD Oh darn, I shifted out of third person. Oops. Too lazy to fix that now...
Toodles! :D

November soundoff

HI!
Remember to use labels!
:)
fine, ill use a lable

Name: Dennis, the emperor mwhahaha. lol halloween was fun
Location: Candyland =D
Mood: High... on sugar (I have a headache too, from texting on the car)

Favorite type of weather: I love it when its windy, but dry and cool. kinda like windy crisp air. I like it that way because the air is just so fresh and crisp and the wind always feels nice. Sunny weather is always good too. weather to just lazily lay on the grass and sleep.

Book(s) I am reading: I just finished reading "Emperor" (Hey look emperor!) by Orson Scott card. IT IS A GREAT BOOK. Mainly because it is set in real world, nothing but the plot is made up. Its a story about how the president is assassinated and the "progressive revolution" rises up to "change the US" basically a civil war. And its all about how Rome used to be a republic and it reached its golden age after a civil war and became an empire, so this one guy tries to copy Rome by passively starting the civil war and rising up as a hero. (its a good book, you should read it)

Favorite quote: "The World Series would still be more important to a lot of Americans than the presidential election" this book was written 2006, so its like he predicted the future.

what I am thankful for: Everything

How are the kids: I don't really like to write in third person so... I'm fine, halloween was aweeesome =D. got like 10 ppl over and raided the nieghborhood. had a halo party afterwords xD
saw mitch in a fro and robert in teresa's coat with a flower in his hair.
My grades kinda... are ok. only have a B in history but thats cuz my essay sucked. alot.

November Soundoff

Is it already November 2nd?
You know what that means...

TIME FOR A NEW SOUNDOFF!!!

Give us your...
Name:
Location:
Mood:

What is your favorite type of weather? Rainy, sunny, hot, cool, snowy, windy? (Why did I ask that? Cuz right now it's absolutely POURING at my house ^^)
What books are you currently reading?
[In honor of Thanksgiving...] What are you thankful for?
And finally...
How are the kids?

YOUR NAME: Bonizzle
Location: Where the rain never stops!!!
Mood: Happy cuz I don't have that much homework today! Too bad I still hafta play piano and violin -_-

What is your favorite type of weather?
I love the rain, especially when I'm going asleep, because it's so soothing to listen to. I don't like thunderstorms because they're too loud, but I like a fervent drizzle of rain, loud enough to hear the pitter-patter of water hitting the sidewalk. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't like sun! Sun is good, as long as it isn't sweltering hot. A gentle sun and a cool breeze is lovely weather for me :)

What books are you currently reading?
FRANKENSTEIN! But I've barely started and it's a required book to read.
Little Women! I'm trying to get through it, but so far it's been kinda cheesy. I tried to read it a long time ago in elementary school, but failed...
And I'm reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in my spare time *coughcoughwhenI'minthebathroom^^*

What are you thankful for?
My family, my house, food, my camera, my computer, electricity, the internet, youtube, school, the PRISM/gifted program, my books, candy, and every single one of you!

How ARE the kids???
The kids are worrying about their grades! I keep telling them that 2 B+'s is alright but the youngest just won't get over the fact that in Freshman year, a straight A record is OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
The middle child is not as worried, she's pretty happy about Halloween and Homecoming and that competition she had to go to. October was a pretty good month for her, but because of that, she's getting lazy and not practicing nearly as much as she should.
The oldest doesn't care about academics or aesthetics, all she wants to do these days is EAT. She bought half a Kahlua pie and a slice of pumpkin pie a couple days ago, a box of powdered cookies at a craft show, three bottles of apple cider, and a couple of spices that she had her mother put on chicken and fish. On top of that, she's devouring all her Halloween candy when she thinks her mother isn't watching her. That can't be good for her braces, but what does she care? She's gluttonous and fat and she's HAPPY about it.
